The Bluegrass Multipurpose Quadcopter for Agriculture from Parrot is designed to give quick feedback to farmers, saving the time and effort in manually inspecting and testing crops and herds. The Bluegrass includes three batteries, and each one provides the drone with enough power to cover up to 30 hectares of area at an altitude of 230'. Low altitudes are also possible if more precision and accuracy are required. The Bluegrass is purposely designed to be easy to fly and repair, and with Pix4Dcapture and autonomous flight capabilities, the Bluegrass can perform its duties automatically.
The Bluegrass is equipped with two cameras. One is a video camera that's capable of snapping 14MP images or taking Full HD 1080p video. The second camera features the Parrot Sequoia multispectral sensor, which is designed to take up to 16MP invisible images in order to generate reporting on your crop's health and vitality. There is also a sunshine sensor on the top of the Bluegrass drone that's designed to log lighting conditions, provide precise GPS and IMU geo-tagging information, as well as providing an SD card slot for additional storage.
The Bluegrass drone's visual data can provide you with infrastructure information, crop scouting, and livestock monitoring across your entire farm. The Sequoia's data can be processed using the AIRINOV FIRST+ agriculture mapping cloud solution. AIRINOV FIRST+ will process the crop data the Sequoia captures, providing you with actionable intelligence. Altogether, the Bluegrass drone and included software can give you the information you need to quickly address problems and maximize the ROI of your farm.
- Pix4Dcapture Navigation App
- The Pix4Dcapture navigation app is available for Android and iOS mobile devices. It allows you to create optimized flight plans at designated altitudes that the Bluegrass can fly automatically. Using your mobile device with the Skycontroller 2 remote during flight, you can stream video from the front camera, select flight altitude, adjust settings, and get additional flight information such as the grown sampling distance and battery levels.
- Sequoia Multispectral Sensor
- The Sequoia captures green, red, red-edge, and near infrared images to provide you with information on the health of your crops. The images are captured at a 16MP resolution on 64GB of internal storage. A strong and durable lens protector keeps the sensors safe from the elements, and you can access the images via Wi-Fi or USB. Once the invisible images are moved to AIRINOV FIRST+ for processing, AIRINOV FIRST+ will generate reports and maps of your farm to denote crop health, relative crop maturity, and any problem areas that you may need to address. You get one year of AIRINOV FIRST+ for free, which can generate data for up to 150 hectares per week.
