This is the 1/16 scale electric powered full option Jagdpanzer IV/70(V) Lang Tank Destroyer kit from Tamiya. Tamiyas 1/16 big scale RC Tank series now includes the Jagdpanzer IV/70(V) Lang tank destroyer! This German AFV proved itself as a formidalbe tank destroyer shortly after its debut late in WWII, and in 2014 was a popular addition to Tamiya's 1/35 Military Miniature series of static models.
The Lang (which is German for long) was added to the name to differenitate it from its precursor that featured a shorter L/48 7.5cm gun, and the design features a wedge-shaped glacis plate on the Pz.Kpfw IV chassis that was shared by the L/48 and L/70 varieties. In the seven months between August 1944 and March 1945 930 Jadgpanzer IV/70(V) Langs were produced and fought valiantly in Germany's last ditch efforts to win the war like along the Ardennes front from December 1944.
The Tamiya Jagdpanzer IV/70(V) Lang is compatible with the Tamiya Battle System which incorporated infared light and realistic sound effects to simulate tank-versus-tank battles. The infared lighting removes any difficulty in judging if a hit was good or not, and it is completely harmless, preventing damage to the tanks body. The system includes the GFS (Gun Fire Simulator) Unit and Infared LED Unit, for the respective detection and discharge of infared beams. A wide range of sound effects and actions are reproduced to make it feel like the real deal!
